Dr. Georgios Skroumpelos is a 1982 Mechanical Engineering graduate of Athens, holds a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD from the Technical University of Crete with a research thesis entitled “Methodological Framework for Occupational Risk Assessment”.

Dr. G. Skroumbelos is a certified Health, Safety & Environment Trainer from the National Qualifications Certification Center (EKEPIS) of Greece as well as from the Human Resources Development Authority of Cyprus (HRD).

Dr. G. Skroumbelos has been working in the field of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) since 1987 at the Johnson & Johnson Hellas company Responsible for new projects and maintenance of the Company’s machinery while performing the duties of the Director of Health, Safety, Fire Safety, Physical Safety and Environment while he continued as Director of Health, Safety, Fire and Physical Security at TVX Gold Inc. (today GREEK GOLD). From 1990, he started a parallel consulting activity in the matters of HAE and also developed a study activity of electromechanical projects. From 2001-2016 he founded and participated in the Board of Directors of a technical/construction company which also operated as an Emergency Medical Service for the provision of Safety Technician & Occupational Physician services, holding the position of technical scientific manager, while from 2016 he founded the independent and specialized RMS Emergency Medical Services with international exposure. In addition, since 2006 he founded the Company DGS CRM Cyprus Ltd which also operates as a HSE consulting company in the Republic of Cyprus as well as a Vocational Training Center (VET).

Dr. G. Skroubellos from 2009 to today is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Maintenance Society (HMS) while from 2014-2023 he was the President of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee of the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS). In 2020 he was selected as a member of the European Organization for Health & Safety (EU-OSHA) Member of the Steering Committee of the European Organization for Health & Safety at Work (EU-OSHA) for the “Reduce the strain” campaign where he remains active.

In the period 2006-2014, Dr. G. Skroubellos was a member of the educational community of the University of Piraeus and a doctorate in the course “Ergonomics” in the Departments of “Industrial Management & Technology”, “Business Management & Organization” and “Information”, while since 2020 he teaches the Safety & Health course in the Renewable Energy/Fossil Fuels Master’s Programs of KEDIVIM of the University of Western Macedonia.

Dr. G. Skroumpelos has implemented more than 15,000 training hours and more than 50,000 hours of consulting services in A&Y, Environmental Protection, Fire Safety and Crisis Management/Business Continuity Planning in Greece, Cyprus and other countries.

The work of Dr. Giorgos Skroubellos includes articles in Greek and international magazines and publications in international Conferences and he has even been awarded for his actions and his consulting work.
