Angelos Bouchouras graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005 and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the same department in 2010. From 2012 to 2019 he was employed as a research associate at the Department of Electrical Engineering of TEI of Western Macedonia and from 2017 to 2019 he taught as a scientific and academic fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Thessaly. In 2019 he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Thessaly as an assistant professor with the subject “Electricity Distribution Systems”, where he still teaches courses in the field of electrical energy. Since 2013 he has also been teaching the MSc “Mechatronics” at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the UoWM. His research interests include optimal energy management with emphasis on optimal network operation. He has also shown significant research activity in the field of non-invasive load detection. He has participated as a researcher in 19 European and Greek research projects and has received one European (EMRP) and 2 national (ELKE AUTH and IKY Siemens) grants for postdoctoral research. He is the main author or co-author of 25 scientific papers published in international scientific journals and 56 scientific papers presented in international scientific conferences. He is also the main author or co-author of 4 chapters in foreign language scientific books. Angelos Bouchouras is a reviewer in more than 15 scientific journals in the field of power systems and has been a member of the scientific committee of several international scientific conferences. His scientific work has received international recognition, as evidenced by 1049 citations in Google Scholar and 756 citations in Scopus.
